Merrist Wood College opened its gates to visitors last Sunday to enjoy an array of festive animals, woodland craft demonstrations and stalls.
Santa arrived in style on a heavy horse drawn carriage, to the delight of the visitors at the farm. Fun at the farm included feeding and meeting animals including goats, pigs, calves and turkeys.
More festive animals were located nearby, with woodland crafts people demonstrating skills such as willow weaving and wood carving. Children also got the chance to meet Twinkle the pony and Darcy the miniature donkey.
Richard Dewing, Associate Principal said “I am delighted that the event has been such a success, and everyone looked like they had a great time. These events showcase the work of our staff and students and our place within the community as a land based college.”
This festive event was the first of its kind at the College and will be back again next year.
