Job Description Summary:
We’re looking for a bold, creative, data-driven Marketing Manager to lead the way in telling our story and expanding our impact. You’ll shape and deliver campaigns that not only get noticed but also inspire action. From strategy to results, you’ll be responsible for getting more people work and life.
This role is about more than marketing; it’s about purpose. You’ll lead a talented in-house team and work alongside senior leaders to bring our values and vision to life.
What you’ll do
Lead strategy
• Develop and drive the college’s marketing strategy, aligned to student recruitment and wider organisational goals.
• Bring fresh thinking to campaign planning and deliver results.
• Work hand-in-hand with School Liaison and Admissions to create a seamless journey from first interaction to enrolment.
• Lead our involvement with the Greater Manchester Institute of Technology (GMIoT), making sure our message is spot on.
Inspire, manage, deliver
• Lead a high-performing team that’s creative, agile, and focused on outcomes.
• Line-manage the Marketing Team and GMIoT Marketing Manager, providing support and pushing when needed.
• Own the planning and execution of multi-channel campaigns across digital, print, PR, events, and internal comms.
• Use insights, feedback and data to shape better decisions and investments.
• Keep us consistent and continually improving in terms of brand, tone, and visual identity.
Think impact, not just activity
• Lead the delivery of prospectuses, videos, social content, and everything in between.
• Oversee open days, enrolment marketing, and key campaigns with creativity.
• Make sure we’re always speaking to the right people, in the right way, at the right time.
• Use systems and processes to keep work moving and your team focused.
• Build and manage agency, media, and supplier relationships, getting the best value and quality.
Be accountable
• Own the marketing budget and make every penny count.
• Measure what matters, from engagement to ROI, and report regularly to senior leaders.
• Ensure everything we do meets legal, ethical, and safeguarding standards.
What you’ll need
Essential
• A degree in Marketing, Communications, or something similar.
• GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or willing to work towards it).
• A strong track record leading successful marketing teams and delivering strategy.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, hit deadlines, and juggle priorities.
• Confident communicator with great people skills.
• Skilled at turning insight into action and data into decisions.
Desirable
• A CIM qualification or similar.
• Experience in education or a similar public-facing organisation.
• Understanding of post-16 education and recruitment cycles.
