About the role: Activate Learning is recruiting a Digital Marketing Assistant to join our Group Marketing and Communications team. Reporting to the Digital Marketing Executive and supporting the Digital Marketing Manager and wider marketing department, the role encompasses updating website content, researching keywords, supporting creation of paid advertising (Pay Per Click) campaigns and email content. The role will be also responsible for the finance administration of the Marketing team. This is a varied and practical role, ideal for someone at the early stages of their marketing career who is keen to gain experience across multiple disciplines, including digital marketing, website content creation, PPC research and A/B testing. You will work alongside experienced marketing professionals and provide additional capacity during busy recruitment and campaign periods. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a strong foundation in digital marketing within a large, collaborative team. As Activate Learning continues to grow, there are opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career. This is a permanent, full-time role (37 hours per week), which can be based at any of our campuses in Oxfordshire, Berkshire or Surrey, with travel required to other colleges as needed. What do you need to be successful as a Digital Marketing Assistant at Activate Learning? We are looking for a proactive, organised and enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in marketing and communications. You will have strong attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment. You will enjoy working as part of a team, be willing to learn, and feel confident supporting colleagues with day-to-day marketing activity. GCSE English and maths at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Effective time management across multiple projects While not essential, we’d be particularly interested in applications from candidates with experience updating website content, using Wordpress or CMS/HTML, and PPC/SEO optimisation. Experience in the education sector is desirable but not essential.

The College Marketing Network is a membership organisation supporting networking, sharing and CPD amongst staff employed in the marketing function of FE, sixth form and specialist colleges. Colleges joining The College Marketing Network provide contact details of staff they wish to be included in our contacts databases, for:
    • email newsletters sent out by The College Marketing Network – names and email addresses
    • enrolment in the CMN group email – names and email addresses
    • events and conferences – names, job titles, colleges for delegate lists, and email addresses for sending out information related to the event.
Member colleges are responsible for keeping these contact details up-to-date as and when required, and CMN provides an annual update request with each membership renewal communication. College contact details are kept for use only by CMN and are not passed on to or processed by external companies or individuals. Information about non-members (colleges) and ex-members (colleges) is also kept for occasional use, eg to inform about conferences and events, as all college marketing teams are deemed to have a legitimate interest in training, CPD and networking opportunities open to college marketers and specifically designed for and aimed at this group of professionals. This information is updated when possible. Any individual or organisation on our contacts database has the right to opt out at any time by contacting office@m-network.org Records are also kept of non-member (non-college) organisations which work with us and support our events and activities. The same information is kept as above and the same opt-out rights apply. Your rights CMN believes colleges (members and non-members) have the right to be informed of CMN services and activities as these serve the professional development of marketing staff in colleges. However, any college may decline to be contacted and databases will be immediately updated accordingly. Colleges (members and non-members) may request to see all information CMN holds on them at any time, and to have this amended, rectified or erased as appropriate or required. Individuals may request their details not be included on CMN publications, eg delegate lists for events.
