New Brand Direction for HSDC to Strengthen Local College Identities

Following board approval, a new future brand direction has been agreed that will strengthen the individual identities of Alton College, Havant Sixth Form College and South Downs College while maintaining the benefits and shared standards of a single college group.

The decision follows a strategic review of how the colleges are positioned within their local communities and how best to support future student recruitment, stakeholder engagement and long-term growth.

Under the new approach, the colleges will be referred to individually, offering the opportunity for them to talk about their distinctive strengths and draw on their learning heritage of over 40 years.

The colleges will continue to operate as part of the HSDC College Group, which will provide overarching governance, quality assurance and strategic leadership across all campuses.

The Board’s decision reflects a commitment to ensuring that prospective students, parents and local communities have a clearer understanding of the opportunities available at each college while retaining the strength and stability that come from being part of a larger organisation.

Kurt Hintz, Principal of HSDC, said:

By strengthening those individual identities, we can better communicate what makes each college special and help more students find the educational environment that is right for them.

The change is intended to strengthen local identity, support student recruitment and ensure each college is best positioned to meet the needs of its learners, communities and regional employers.
